I've seen a good amount of largemouth fry, as well as a TON of sunfish fry at Pompton Lake this year.

I think with all the rain, cooler water, spawn was late this year.Recall seeing a post that guys weren't seeing fish on beds till later than normal.

I've seen them in Wasington Valley, Spruce Run, and Spooky Brook Pond (Colonial Park) but all were small and few.

dont worry, this has pretty much been a really wierd year for all of us, i think because of all the cold fronts in the spring, the fish spawned late.

Call me naive, but I don't know what 'fry' means? Can someone explain as I might be able to chip in my 2 pennies once I know what's going on here... :)

"Fry" are young of the year fish, or others would call them "Bait" !

fry are the little babies. fingerlings are a few inches in length

I've seen them in a few lakes the past couple of days. Some actually where hiding under my kayak today while I was patrolling the shallows.

Small concentrations of them at Shepherds lake last night.

Not many though. Personally I couldnt identify them, this is going by what my buddy pointed out.

butler res. is pretty close to me. still not bass fry in my lake. just seeing sunfish fry. at least i think they are. do largemouth fry still have the distinctive dark line running down their body when they are .5'' long?

i may throw out a minnow trap to see if i can find one. anybody have recommendations about what kind of bait i should use. im guessing pieces of hot dog and/or bread?
