Passaic River 7/11/11

Headed up to the river in Wayne yesterday. I caught a nice pike on my second cast. I've been fishing that area of the river for pike hard the past month and I was finally rewarded. Also caught a couple smallmouths, a largemouth, and a perch. All on artficials, the pike on a spinnerbait and the rest on rattletraps.

Can I ask what time of day you're hitting them?

I got there around 10:30 in the morning and fished till about 2. I saw a fair amount of bait in the one section I was fishing, looked like some sort of shad fry. In another spot I was surprised to see a lot of crayfish.

Good job buddy, those Pike fight real hard and when they go aerial, forget it! Gotta love toothie critters!!!
