I have never done well in the surf in Spring Lake or Sea Girt but you can try fishing next to any of the jetties. The Manasquan Inlet is an easy place to fish. I have never fished the Shark River Inlet but I know that it is a popular place so you might want to try there as well.

If you are looking for freshwater, Spring Lake has carp, catfish, largemouth bass and assorted panfish. Overall not a bad fishery.

Spring lake this time of year is good for panfish, carp, and largemouth Bass. If ya bring bread and chum with it you can catch some shiners for free live bait. There are alot of shiners in that lake.

well i hit the beach twice with squid strips and clams and nada, hit spring lake sunday AM in a light drizzle and caught 4 on rat L traps, 1 LMB (not too big) and 3 something else's lol (will post pics later of the something elses for ID) went later in the day when it wasnt raining for a few hours with the family and i caught one perch (no pic, phone was in the Jeep and family was too far away with the camera) and a DAMN decent LMB...the LM had to of come from below to hit the rat L cuz it had both trebles in its mouth, one on each side...ill get a pic or two up later after were done unpacking
