Took my first RV night-fishing trip of the year. My new (used) outboard had the boat moving at 15mph, so the lake is a lot smaller to me now.
I watched the full moon rise on a clear windless night. That was beautiful.
I moved around because fishing was off...Pines, Cherry Street, North Point. Only one 14" rainbow and a few bluegill. Lights attracted lots of small fish. Sorry...No pictures. I forgot the camera at home.

Still looking for the entry with the tiger trout and channel catfish, my logbooks are a mess, I know it's in there somewhere.
Thanx for kicking off the nite rainbow fishing, great way to beat the heat on those hot summer days !!

Thanks. I never used cheese. How is it? I mostly use night crawlers and shrimp.

SAY CHEESE !! Well it's really not cheese. Velveeta is a pasteurized prepared cheese product, the front runner for Berkley Power Bait.
Keep it cool, try not to handle it alot, use about a half dollar size in a saucer shape.
All my BIG rainbows are caught on da cheese. I tried cooked shrimp before but ended up eating them all before I could get them out as bait.
Once the cheese gets down below 20ft. the water gets very cold, it tends to harden up a bit in the depths. Bring a smaller cooler, two reasons, keep the Velveeta cool, and a place to put your trout, the rainbows are nice and pink inside, great table fare, or great for the smoker.
I do not chum, the Velveeta leaves a scent trail.
