Met Steve in Riverdale at 4 am.

1st stop non sponsor for Live Herring.

Arrived at Merrill Creek at 5:45 am.

Steve launched the 16 ft Monark & off we went.

Steve took us across the reservoir & we set up on the 1st Drift.

It did not take long for the 1st Strike guard to go off & I was rewarded with the 1st Brown of the day.

We continued drifting & Steve had 3 bites and he could not hook up & boy did I bust his Balls !

I knew it was just a matter of time before he hooked up !

On the next drift Steve caught a Nice Rainbow.

High Fives some pics & baits back in !

We continue drifting and 1 of Steve's strike guards gets wacked !

Steve knew he had a good fish & I bought in the other lines and got the net ready.

The reel was screaming and Steve fought the Fish & I net the 1st Laker of the Day.

The next drift the wind picked up & the bite shut down.

We made a move & anchored up & started catching stockies.

I put 1 line 3 ft off the bottom and my strike guard goes off & my reel started screaming.I landed the 2nd Laker of the day.

Not a bad way to spend a Sat morning.

At noon we called it a day !

1 Hold over Brown,1 Hold over Rainbow,2 Lakers & a Bunch of Stockies !

The water was stained from all the Pollen but The Trout were hungry !

That's good to hear. I was there Sunday and the trout guys did poor from what I saw but me and my dad had some nice bass up to 3.5 lbs. Did see some swirls out deep but it only lasted 5 minutes.

Maybe I need to go on the drift more often. You guys did way better than I did, I got 2 yellow perch and that was it.

Gotta give it a try. not much of a bait fisherman here so will be looking to fish lures.

You cover more ground when drifting !

Just like Fluke fishing once you find them keep working the same drift.
