well after a HORRIBLE trip on Monday where i only landed bull gills, seeds and green tiger sunfish and 1 dinky bass i said fudge it i am carping it up. Made my special brew and got the rigs together and was it the right decision!
most amazing carping i ever saw 12 for 22 on fish from 3 to what had to be 20lbs that snapped my medium in 3 as i tried dragging it ashore I couldn't keep a bait in the water from 5:30-6:50 they were on it as soon as it hit bottom I even had a fish run with hard i set the hook he popped off and within2 seconds came back for the bait! just an unreal night wish i had more pics but my camera crapped out i am off to get a new 1 asap as i hate fish storys with no proof. I also landed 2 hard shelled roast beef that were promptly let go and saw 3 water snakes awesome evenng!at the park!!

BD i have no idea why more peeps don't go after Philly Tarpon it is cheap as heck 2 cans of corn cost $2 some size 10 hooks and some small egg sinkers and you get a fish thats going to run you around the lake screaming drag!

I was kayaking at a local lake today. Saw a lot of big carp splashing around all over the lake. I'm going back with a few cans of corn. What else can I use to catch carp?

what i do is i mix 2 cans of creamed corn with some flour and vanilla extract let that sit for 24 hours and shake it often.use a ladel to chum IN THE AREA YOUR FISHING! i have seen guys chum then throw there hook baits nowhere near where they chummed. for bait i use white and yellow sweet corn kernels. i fish 3 rods 1 no weight with 8lb line and a size 10 hook and yellow corn kernels another with a 3/16 oz egg sinker on a sliding rig to a size 10 hook with white sweet corn kernels and the third rod with a 3/16 oz oz sliding egg sinker with a size 10 hook with a mix of white and yellow corn. somedays the no weight will outfish the weighted hooks but if theres any breeze the weighted ones will work better. also keep your rod horizontal to the water not vertical this allows the carp to play with the bait and not feel any weaight as easy. some guys also fish with dough baits, nightcrawlers or mulberrys but i have done best with corn

Thanks for the tips. I will have to try that out.. These carp I've seen today where big. Hooking into 1 while on the kayak should be fun.

i have never fished for them from any kind of w/c the key ios to be quiet and move as little as possible they are very skittish so be sure you anchor or set somewhere stable
