Was thinking of switching over to braided line on my baitcaster. Anyone recommend a certain one? Also, will braided line help reduce backlash?

Thanks!

I use Fins and they have a product in their line called WINDTAMER which is supposed to reduce backlashing.

I think it helps some and for what ever reason, when you do get a backlash, it seems easier to work out then mono or other braids I've used.

It certainly does last a lot longer then mono and it does not suffer from line memory and twist like mono does. If you get a really nasty backlash with mono that particular area of the line get curlys and can inhibit for casting and cause more backlashes, so I would say it's better for bait casting reels.

Not sure why braid has not caught on as much in the freshwater like it has in the saltwater. I think it might have to do with the visability of braid compared to mono. I'm sure others have their opinions and will chime in here.

I like Spiderwire Stealth. It has a coating that makes it a little slick, which makes picking out backlashes a little easier, plus it reduces frequency because it doesn't cut into itself as much.

Power pro. I use 50lb test myself. Great for flipping into heavy weeds and pads.

Get "FINS" Windtamer, you'll love it, no coating, packs better than any braid I've ever used, probably smallest diameter as well!!

Thanks guys for all the advice! :) I've heard good things about spider-wire so I might try that out first.
