So ends the rumor you can't catch carp in the spring when they are spawning. What kind of bait were you using for the carp ?

nice carp! i started targeting them last year at a local lake and got addicted after the first run off. caught one almost 40#, but most were 15-25#. i've tried passaic river fishing 4-5 times for carp but never got any. i think ill stick to my lake fishing. i saw a bunch today while i was bass fishing. one probably a little over 30. they were mostly taking in the sun's rays but the big one was 3 feet away from shore eating. pretty cool sight to see

carp are fun fish to catch as you guys know. The are prized game fish in Europe and there are many tournaments for them. They have all kinds of special equipment to catch them. I am sure they would go crazy here in the USA if they saw how under-fished and how large this fish can get!

Very nice fish! That thing is a slob!

I also live in Nutley. Toggin, are the stripers running up the river yet? I've been too busy largemouth fishing to get out there.

Toggin, big bass are already in the river for a while, getting them on bucktails and plugs north of there. Berry fishin should start in a couple of weeks too, I know of a lot of trees in nutly / bellville on both sides. Keep a look out for me in an aluminum boat called MING. Be out there soon
