This past February had an opportunity to fish with Eric Haataja in Milwaukee. I've never seen so many big brown trout in my life! Witnessed a 12 year old jig up a 22 + lb.giant through the ice...incredible. All fish were caught ice fishing Lake Michigan in the Milwaukee area. Simply the finest brown trout fishery IN THE WORLD. Your odds of catching a 20 + lber on a daily basis are very high....with many fish in the high 20's and over 30. The world record was broken last year (42 lbs.)by a guy fishing a salmon derby out of Racine.

The trout actually start moving into the marinas around there in late October-November. I saw Mike Iaconnelli do a show there, they must have landed a dozen 5-15 lb browns.

Big browns in the winter, smallies in the summer, maybe I should move to Wisconsin.
