Not having fished there in quite a while I can't comment on the catching recently.
However the Trout pond is usually loaded, and it is catch and KEEP AND PAY only. I think it was like $5.00 per lb. 5lb. Trout costs you $ 25.00:eek:
If it were me I'd fish the catch and release pond for Hybred Stripers, catfish etc.

I don't think they stock the trout pond anymore. Last time I was there (last fall) the aerator was gone and no signs about keeping the trout. Probably should call but didn't look like anything was stocked. That pond now looks like their shiner hatchery.

Just as an aside...seems like fishing has fallen off there, at least for me. I used to go and catch a ton of stuff.. but the last two times I went I got the skunk which is ridiculous for an $11 per pole charge. For kids, they can have a sunny fest. In the past I've caught rainbows out of the trout pond (owner at the time let me catch and release), catfish (on lures!), bass and crappies. Never caught a striper or walleye which are supposed to be in there.

Thanks for the update.

There's trout in there. I stopped in earlier in the year to get worms and two gentlemen walked through the door with a couple of bows on their stringers. They said they got them on worms and kastmasters

Molder's is a non-sponsor, so take this post down if inappropriate (but they do not really compete with any of our paid sponsors)

732-446-2850

$11 entry for adults
$9 entry kids, 12 and under
$4.50 per pound for the trout

Trout are only in one of the 6 ponds. Entry fee allows you to fish in all 6 for all species (trout must be kept at rates above though, all other species can be released)

Great place for the kids. They are also live bait (freshwater) wholesalers and have really health shiners !!

Yes I bought shiners there and they all lasted the car ride. Some other places I've gotten haven't. That's good to know. Like I said last time I was there no signs about the trout like I have seen before and the aerator in the trout pond was gone. I may be wrong but looks like they catch their shiners from that pond - looked they had lights and killie type traps set up.

I took my nephew there the day after trout season started. I read how slow trout fishing was on opening day, so I figured Molders would be a good spot to get my nephew hooked into some trout... He landed 3 rainbows and lost 1. The prices that was mentioned 11 for adults 9 for kids under 9yrs and 4.50 lb is correct.
I saw maybe 6 or 7 other trout get caught by others and some already had a few on stringers.
