Has anyone ever fished here before? I have a friend that wants to take up fishing and I thought this would be a good starter lake for him. Everything I've been reading says Whites Pond is loaded with LMB and various other species.

If anyone knows more about this spot please drop a comment :) Thanks!

Have definitely caught a bunch of bass there and a few trout.. it's stocked, but beware of all the junk growing in it. At least that's what it was like last time... too many weeds and it seemed the fish were gasping for oxygen... was strange... good place to learn though!

Thanks DBoyd :) Yeah I figure it's a good place to start for him. I'm way out of practice myself so maybe I'll go check it out this week.

How is the parking and shoreline access?

plenty of parking, plenty of shoreline. lots of bass but they are not biting yet. the water is still on the cold side. There is also plenty of sunfish, carp, catfish, and trout.

There are channel cats as well as bull cats. The bull cats bite at night. You can fish the Ho Ho Kus brook which feeds into it for trout as well.

when i fish there i catch a majority of my fish on the dam using small silver rapalas. nothing real big in there but they are in pretty good numbers.
