Well just got home from my last trip of the season to the SR fished with my dad, uncle and gandfather...the river was running very high and it was kind of washed out...Thursday and Friday water was at 2500...Saturday/Sunday,4200..soooo not good. Wound up spending the majority of our time in Orwell and Trout Brook two tribs that dump into the river but we only found fish in Orwell...not much to report about our trip,my Dad was the only one to land a steelie from the SR..my uncle and I spotted 7 fish in Orwell, hooked 4 and grandpa hook up on 1 and landed and whole bunch of fallfish.
Good news though, the majority of the steelies are still spawning and have not started their run back to the lake..soo if anyone is feeling adventurous if the water level ever comes back down in the 1000 cfs range within the next couple weeks you have a good shot at some fish..also the river is loaded with big brown trout right now..and they will hang around for awhile
