Figures it was to cold to put the boat in the water so after having some Pho ( vietneese soup) with my friend Thaugn (Ton) we decided to drive up to Shamokin Damm and throw some of our favorite smoke jigs on 3/8 # 3 jig heads. Boy was it cold wadeing in that water, but it did pay off. First, Ton snagged a 30 +lb carp and yelled at me, " hey shorty fight this thing" so I gladly took the rod and fought it to the bank where I unhooked it to let it go bother someone else. Then we started to find some smallie, they hit like you were stuck on the bottom, then all of a sudden they started jumping. All together we took 4 home, yes we were fishing above the Damm where you can keep them, and lost a few more. It sure beat sitting in the house and just doing nothing. Here is a picture of my first Smallie of the year 2011

Andy,
You have to make it out to PA. The action will only get better. Some of the best spots are now catch and release, which is fine by me, plus I have to check out some areas down by me so that when October comes we can get into some of those 10+ lb walleyes

And they do taste good. Probably because of those firm muscles they use to fight us. Nice job!
