PROWLER 5 BLACKFISH REPORT - MONDAY, DEC. 22ND, 2025.
Hey gang,
Today began with a respectable turnout of 17 anglers, who braved the ocean conditions. Our initial target was a wreck site in 109 feet of water, where a strong tide ran off the bottom, but our anchors held firm. Although we spent considerable time fishing this location, expecting a potential bite, our efforts yielded 3 keeper tog and a limited catch of short blackfish.
After relocating to an alternative drop in 106 feet, we experienced slightly improved fishing conditions, although the pick remained slow, resulting in a couple of additional keepers. Ultimately, our day's tally consisted of 5 keepers and a few undersized fish.
We will be suspending operations temporarily and are optimistic about improved fishing conditions for Thursday's trip, which coincides with Christmas Day.
Currently, 9 participants are signed up, and those interested in joining should contact me directly, as we aim to cap the trip around 20 anglers. Larry and I will serve as the crew for this outing.
On Friday, following Christmas, John from Florida will join us, along with Larry.
We sail from 7:30am-2:30pm/3PM. Our updated pricing for blackfish fishing is $90 for full fare and $70 for seniors. So, Let's go fishing!
Thanks, Captain Scott
