Looking to add another aspect to your fishing? For anyone interested in joining the second (and first FULL season) of the NJ Multi Species Mayhem Fishing club, 2026 enrollment is now open! AND there is now going to be a preliminary season of saltwater standings starting off with 6 popular species!

Joining the club is $35 and all done through the Fishing Chaos app (No other subscription feea are necessary). Joining the club let's you submit your fish caught throughout the season, in NJ public waters to score points towards a season total to try to place in the yearly standings. Enrolling in the club through the Fishing Chaos app also give you access to any events the club has throughout the year, including bbqs and fishing get-togethers.

100% of the $35 enrollment goes back into the club including prizes and giveaways. Last year's partial season preliminary run saw about 50 ambitious anglers submitting almost 800 fish in 27 species categories, with Chuck Many taking top honors as NJ's first Multi Species Grand Champion. With the help of generous donors and sponsors, around $2,500 in cash and awards were given out!

Prizes, awards and events are directly relative to the amount of participation, so we are trying to help spread the word so that no NJ angler is left wondering why they didnt hear about it.

Being a member of the club and participating in the get-togethers doesn't require you to submit fish at all, but if you are interested in that aspect, all you need other than the Fishing Chaos app is a legal bump board measuring device, your phone's camera, and the identifier code provided once the season begins. You submit a photo of your fish properly measured on the bump board according to the rules and depending on the size are placed into the standings and issued points towards a season total.

We hope all of you join up and enjoy it as much as we did this past season and hope to see some even better fish submitted this year! There will be 28 eligible freshwater species this year and a seperate saltwater standings with 6 popular species to start!

I'll attach some photos of the awards given at the NJFishing Merry Mayhem Christmas Party this year and attach the link to NJ Multi Species Mayhem Fishing club in the Fishing Chaos app below (you may have to download the free app first):

How do you enforce that the fish are caught in NJ and on a public waterway?

The app uses location services on your phone like when using the gps to drive so it knows the vicinity of where the fish photo was taken. Worked out pretty well for the preliminary season. For salt water there isnt any private water so that wouldnt be an issue anyway. Location would only matter to make sure people arent going outside of the set boundaries which will include as far north/east and south that a nj boat would reasonably go (including the waters on the ny side of raritan and delaware side of del bay)

So it’s a matter of where the photo is taken not where the fish is actually caught?

The vicinity or the exact location?

The accuracy of what the tournament director sees i think is like a 50 yard radius or so. Its mostly for the fresh water division due to private stocked waters which arent included or allowed. Salt water would only matter that its in the huge area around nj. There isnt really much that can be done about it though. Its either trust 1 guy to see where the fish was caught or trust hundreds of guys to not cheat you kmow what i mean

Those two locations should be very close to each othe:or or i think the app will have an issue. Fish has to be visibly alive in the picture (eyes, color, etc.) To prevent people trying to cheat the system. Like anything else its not 100% infallible, but its the best option atvthe moment
