After my $9.95 Shimano R2000 spinning reel seized up, I transferred the line to an Eagle Claw ultralight spinning reel that the owner of Kitchen 35 in Brielle gave me. Went fishing in 73.7 degrees Dam Site 21 this evening on a sunny ☀, cool, windy day during Hurricane Erin. Saw 3 bank fishermen and two boats. An osprey was fishing nearby. A flock of Canada geese flew over the trees. I threw out canned, whole kernel corn for chum, then caught and released a largemouth bass while ultralight jigging. Caught a redeared slider, two brown bullheads to 13.5” and two 24” common carp to 7 lb 6 oz. Landed 65 turtles and 54 carp this year.
