Went fishing 🎣 in 82.4 degrees Gropp’s Lake yesterday evening on a hot 🥵, humid, sunny, day with no wind. The hundred degrees weather last week turned the vegetation from green to brown. My fishing 🎣 spot was covered with moss so I threw it onto the shore before I started fishing. Threw out canned, whole kernel corn 🌽 for chum, then caught nothing with corn 🌽 bait. Caught and released 2 bluegills to 8” with a 1/32 oz twister tail jig on 2 lb test line. Also caught and released a 23” 4 lb 9 oz channel catfish with my homemade corn meal bait on an old Mitchell #300 spinning outfit. Saw 8 fishermen catch nothing. Mosquitoes 🦟 were biting. Killed 2. An osprey, 4 rock pigeons, a great blue heron, a double crested cormorant, and swallows flew nearby. A cottontail rabbit was in the parking lot when I left. Took pictures. A few fish were jumping. My friend Ross caught tuna today.
