Finally got a chance to go out on my new boat. There's a big difference between a 20ft and a 23.7 ft CC. Hit some good numbers and we caught sea bass, ling, fluke, bergall and blackfish (released) The ratio was like 20 almost keepers to one keeper sea bass. Ling were all over the place. Pretty much constant action all day. Came home with some nice fresh fish. Most fish caught around 60ft and clam was the ticket! Tight Lines

Congrats on the new boat and best of luck with her! Yeah lots of short Seabass out there but hard to swallow the tight regs that are still in place for them. This fishery has been rebuilt for several years now but we still have to suffer with these punitive regs. I'm OK with leaving 10 fish @ 12.5 inches but keep the season open longer!

Thanks Gerry. It's a dream come true for me! The fishery is definitely rebuilt and the regs make no sense. I wish they would increase the bag limit to at least 5 sea bass 7-1 thru 8-31 instead of one keeper. This would take some pressure off of other species like fluke and help the rec fishing industry which generates lots of money for local party/charter boats, tackle shops and many other businesses along the jersey coast. People want to bring home some fish to eat especially when the spend over a $100 to go fishing!
Nevertheless the regs in place now make no sense and are certainly not based on science and stats! Tight lines!
