Thats retarded. The North Atlantic bluefin population is healthier than it's been in like 50 f'n years! They're being caught from piers in NC and crashing bait in NJ inlets.

They were STACKED like cord wood off seaside for nearly 8 weeks 2 summers ago. The bio mass i saw last fall inshore/midshore was asinine.

Whoever is in charge must've gotten seriously greased, or got seriously greased on Epstein island. Things like this make me sick to my stomach.

Federally I think it's shut down... but where are the dividing lines state by state, esp out east... well south of cape cod? Ri waters? Wrecks southeast of Block Island? Some of tbe wrecks out there that hold fish are in federal waters, some may be in state waters? I dunno... but a cod closure makes way more sense than a bluefin restriction like this. Cod are in trouble. Bluefins have rebounded dramatically

Terrible news for sure. I remember reading that NJ June 2023 BF reported fish was in the hundreds and June 2024 BF was several thousands. It is a shame that when we report more fish that the quota goes down. The last 5-6 years the bluefin population for sure has significantly increased.

They always seem to move the regulations around throughout the year. Let's hope that the quota gets adjusted.

Now let's talk about this never-ending wind and rain.

Looks like to Commercial side opens for plus 74 inch fish June 1 and goes through November but I believe it's subject to closures when their quotas are met...I believe recreational charters with a commercial endorsement fall under these rules too.

We're going from 2 unders +27 to under 47" and one over 47 to under 73, to just one under. Thats crazy.
