Went fishing 🎣 in flooded, muddy 63 degrees Carnegie Lake in the cold 🥶 rain 🌧️ during a nor’easter again. Air temperature was 20 degrees below normal. I could see my breath when I exhaled. No cars 🚘 were in the parking lot when I arrived. By the time that I got ready to go fishing 🎣, the old guy from China 🇨🇳 who took over my fishing spot twice last week arrived and walked to the lake. He had buckets 🪣 but no fishing 🎣 gear on the Aqueduct. I decided to fish 🎣 in my flood spot instead of my primary spot. Threw out canned, whole kernel corn 🌽 for chum, then caught nothing with my homemade corn meal bait and while ultralight jigging. Started getting bites on my corn 🌽 bait. A basser arrived, made a few casts in my spot, then left. I proceeded to hook my biggest fish 🐠 of the year after that. It swam into the lily pad field to my left where the carp break my line and escape with my rig. This time I kept pumping and reeling my brother John’s Shakespeare Alpha 50 spinning reel with 20 lb test line on a Bass Pro Shop spinning reel and a miracle happened. I landed my biggest fish 🐟 for this year but my rig was destroyed. The top hook was broken and the loop on the middle hook was pulled tight.
