Went fishing 🎣 in Manasquan Inlet this afternoon in the cold rain 🌧️ on the incoming tide during a sou’easter small craft advisory and coastal flood watch. Air temperature was only 59 degrees. Few people were out in the rain. Caught, tagged and released 2 bluefish with a plain hook Ava A-17 and my brother John’s homemade, synthetic bucktail teaser in 2.5 hours of casting. A spear fisherman shot a striped bass and bluefish. The Game Warden was in the parking lot when I left. The new party boat Point Princess went out, then in the inlet. Saw one fish swirl near the rocks. Took pics.

Great reports. You really get around for a youngster:p Hope I have that energy at your age. Keep catching and reporting and stay careful on those rocks!

Did you tag the blues this time?
Yes . Last year 2 blues that I tagged in Manasquan Inlet were recaptured in NY. An 8 pounder was caught in the East River and kept then a 12.5 pounder was caught and released with the tag intact near Fisher Island. You NY fishermen are great . I really appreciate it when you report catching my tagged fish.

good stuff!! keep up the good work that the majority of us don't do.. Not only is it interesting to read about, its valuable information about where fish go, when they go, how long they stay, how much they grew etc...... bob
