Went carping in 75 degrees Colonial Lake this evening in the rain before, during and after a cold front. Wind changed from northeast to northwest. Saw 9 fishermen catch nothing. Canada geese, mallards 🦆, crows 🐦*⬛, mourning doves 🕊️, redwing blackbirds 🐦*⬛, killdeer and a sandpiper were nearby. I took lots of pics. Threw out canned, whole kernel corn 🌽 for chum, then caught and released a 14” 9” girth 1 lb 6 oz brown bullhead with a big, red sore on its upper lip 👄 with corn 🌽 bait. Saw a large snapping turtle 🐢 head sticking out of the water nearby then hooked something that just swam towards me like a turtle 🐢. It was another 14” brown bullhead with her guts protruding from her vent. Girth was only 7.5” and weight was only 1 lb 2 oz. I’m applying for two more NJ Skillful Angler Recognition Awards.
