Tracey and I had a few decent days fishing the shad tourney this week .

I wade fished Thursday morning and had 15 in a few hours of fishing before heading out on the boat .

Thursday afternoon got crazy and we boated 75 in less than 5 hours of fishing .

Friday we fished the afternoon boating 45.

Saturday I fished solo in the morning boating 42 , Tracey and I added another 27 in the afternoon for a total of 69.

todays weather looked to be the best , and had expectations of another great day , fish had a different idea .

Where huge schools had been for a week were gone .

I ran about 5 miles north looking for those pods .

only catching 3 stragglers .

207 shad made it into the net during the 4 days . Lots of cookie cutter roe between 4# and 4# 2 Oz .

but nothing worthy of a weigh in .

great weather , fun fishing still made for a great week .

CONGRATS to those that placed

Couple pics

Sounds like you and Tracey had things dialed in Dan. As far as the Shad run, would you say this has been a better year than most?

Fishing has either been very very good . Or non existent .
Most trips have been a good steady pick of doubles and triples .
Then a day you can’t find anything moving miles .

So I would say the run has been way better than in the past 10 years .
But still not as good as before that when there was very little break between the pods .

I’m happy to see the improvement we have got, and hoping to see it get even better .

Great report and stellar action. A lot of boats out there when I was taking a joy ride Saturday. Amazing dedication to the Shad. Love it! :D
