NJF’s Multispecies Madness! 2024 contest and sign up thread!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children’s of all ages. If you don’t know me by now, well, you’ve been living under a rock. I’ve been foaming at the mouth recently to have a little bit of a contest. That’s right! You heard it hear first. Reading all the “Best of” threads here has me thinking about the competitive nature most of us have. So here it goes! We will have 8 categories in this long duration contest Pike, Walleye, Trout, Hybrids, LM/SM Bass, Perch/Crappie, Pickerel and Flathead Cats to get our finest river warriors involved.

Deadline to sign up is Thursday February 29th by Midnight! No entries will be entered once this deadline hits.
Contest start date - 3-1-2024
Contest end date - 9-2-2024


RULES

Entry fee will be 25 dollars per entrant. All fees paid go right back into the contest.

All entry fees must be received before the contest start date. Hit me up if you want to pay cash.

Payment method - Zelle me through my email fasteddie2927@yahoo.com. And I believe you can look me up by typing in my name and/or phone number.

Entrant must be a member of the NJ Multispecies Mayhem page!
Entrant must have a legitimate bump board to enter a fish in the contest.

When placing fish on the bump board make sure the mouth is closed all the way. Be sure the fishes nose is up against the start of bump board so an accurate measurement is provided. Mouth CLOSED people! It’s simple!

NO PRIVATE LAKES, PONDS or CLUBS! All fish must be caught in NJ PUBLIC WATERS!!! . NO PRIVATE LAKES OR PONDS!!! NO TROUT CLUB RIVER FISH ALLOWED UNLESS THEY’RE CAUGHT OUTSIDE CLUB PROPERTY LINES AND THOSE STUPID CHAINS AND ROPES YOU PUT ACROSS THE RIVER. IF YOU CATCH A CLUB TROUT OUTSIDE CLUB PROPERTY LINES ILL COUNT IT AS A CATCH. NO PERMIT PAY LAKES LIKE THE NEWARK WATERSHED ALLOWED!!! IT’S A PUBLIC WATER ONLY CONTEST! IF WE THE PEOPLE HAVE TO PAY TO FISH YOUR CLUB WE CANT BE FRIENDS!!!

All fish entered will require 2 pictures posted here. 1 out of the 2 pictures needs to have the mystery item included. Mystery item is located towards the bottom of this post. You can copy and print the picture and letter number combo. If you can’t do that simply write, NJF.comMM2024 on a
Post card or anything you have. The 1st pic needs to be the fish on the bump board showing clear measurements! Mouth closed and nose pressed against the bump board. The 2nd pic needs to be the angler holding there catch with a little background on the water in the pic. Not trying to spotburn. Lmao, as if that’s a thing in NJ public water.

If the fish entered is blurry, questionable or not placed on the bump board properly that entry will be suspended as this contest depends on clear pictures.

If the picture appears to be photoshopped it’s an automatic disqualification! You will be kicked out of the contest.

In the case of a tie the first fish entered wins the prize.

The fish you catch and enter can be from land, boat or Kayak so make sure you have your bump board at all times. Please make sure your phones flash is on if your night fishing. Dont be that guy or gal!!! What happened to my entry? We can’t see the fish, duhhhhhh!!! It’s happened!

As of right now this contest is dependent on entries and how much prize money we can generate. For now the biggest fish entered in each category will get the cash until we figure out exactly how big this contest gets. We will be out there looking for prizes as always.

We’ve also teamed up with Chris and Joe from the Mayhem page. They’re going to help keep the contest going by spinning that wheel at the end of every month. The wheel will be spun for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place entries in the 8 categories at the end of every month. We’re also adding 10 anglers with no fish entered to the wheel to make sure that all involved always have a chance to win something for there efforts. If that entrants name comes up they will win a door prize of some sort. This is just to keep angler interest going throughout the contest.

If you don’t follow The NJ Multispecies Podcast please get onto YouTube and like, follow and hit that Subsribe buttton. They put out some super helpful content and info!

On that note, WHO’s IN??? This the 2024 NJFishing.com fishing contest. If you fish private lakes, don’t bother! If you don’t like friendly competition with ball busting, don’t bother! If you think you can enter a fish without a bump board you’re screwed! Buy a bump board, like yesterday. I’m hoping this contest keeps things interesting throughout the upcoming Spring/ Summer fishing season. Good luck to all who enter and oh boy, if we don’t get enough contestants the contest simply won’t go down. It’s been a while and I’m trying to get something going to peak angler interaction and interest.

this is a good question.
IMO because it's still public water, everyone has their own chance to catch that fish. So that's allowed for a contest like this at least.

Tried to do this the best way possible for the trout, keeping it partially in the water rather than rolling around on the rocks and dirt. Seemed to work!
