American Shad Recreation
Possession Limit
The daily bag limit for American Shad has been
reduced from 3 to 2 for the Delaware River. The
American Shad fishery remains closed in all other freshwaters.

Modification of Striped Bass Size Limits
The statewide daily creel and possession limit for
Striped Bass is one fish, a minimum length of 28
inches and a maximum length of 31 inches. This
daily limit and slot limit also applies to Hybrid
Striped Bass on the Raritan River downstream
of the Duke Island Park dam. The Striped Bass and Hybrid Striped Bass regulations on the Delaware River remain a one fish daily limit, however there is now a minimum length of 28 inches and a maximum length of 31 inches. An administrative
change was also made for Striped Bass and Hybrid
Striped Bass regulations on the Delaware River
downstream of the Calhoun St. Bridge, extending
the open season from March 30 to March 31.

Are there that many hybrid striped bass below Duke Island Park, I know I have seen a few but.........?????

Thanks for posting the changes Andy. Was thinking the same about the hybrids below Duke Island.

The hybrid rule probably helps eliminate any possible confusion, or excuses, to keep a pure strain when the angler "thought" it was a hybrid?

But yea dont see many but I guess you need to have a regulation for everything so why not just lump it with the striped bass.

I dont follow the striped bass stuff much but im glad they're protected once up river. At least by the book, the enforcement i know is thin

I know of like, 2 hybrids 'keeper' sized caught in the lower raritan like the last 10 years. Pretty rare... and I didn't get one lol.
