Went carping in 84 degree Colonial Lake this evening during a thunderstorm. Threw out a can of corn 🌽 for chum, then caught and released a 35 lb snapping turtle 🐢 on my first cast of the day with Bowl and Basket whole kernel corn. Then caught and released an 8 lb snapping turtle. Landed 63 turtles this year.

Tell me you didn't catch that on 2 lb. test! Nice job on the release, something that old deserves it's freedom. They are one prehistoric looking creature and man would I hate to have one of those latch onto my fingers or toes!

Are you trying to catch those turtles? Do u actually get the hook out or just cut the line?

I try to catch carp with corn 🌽 bait but turtles 🐢 like to eat corn. I got my hooks back from the big turtle.
