Gambler has been having a great spring on sea bass --and seeing better numbers of fluke when we can drift.
On our regular 8 till 2:30 day trips, Gambler is heading 6 to 12 miles, generally drifting over rough bottom to catch a mix of sea bass and fluke. We have also been seeing more ling, mackerel, small bluefish and even an occasional flounder. On the days that the wind is too strong, we have been anchoring-up to catch fish.
Gambler's Nite Wreckin' Trip was a slow steady pick of sea bass and ling. One of our regulars was casting into the glow of our unique underwater lights to catch squid. Our Nite Wreckin' trips go Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights through the summer.
On our Monday 10 hour Special trip for Sea Bass yesterday, we caught lots of keeper sea bass throughout the trip. There were also a handful of ling taken. Great trip! Only one more of these 10 hour trips left, leaving Monday the 12th. There is still room but don't wait too long to sign-up as these trips tend to fill up.
Starting on Father's day weekend, the Gambler will switch over from our 3/4 day trip to half days, leaving at 8AM and Returning by 12:30 and from 2:00 Pm till 6:30.
I just want to remember our friend and long-time customer, John Carrier who passed tragically due to a car accident. He and his wife, Linda were driving home from a visit with friends when struck by a person under the influence. He will be missed.
