Delayed report from last week:
What an awesome day of fishing the Big D! Met Capt Tim at 0600 & we had lines in water by 0630 & Devon had the first shad by 0635! It basically didn't stop from then until we went in. Multiple double hookups & even a few triples! Yours truly also landed a solid river smallie which made me win specie war. Of course we landed the 666th shad of the season for capt tim but we quickly made that 667 & we headed in after that 1 as the weather got really Murray pretty quickly. We landed over 50 for the day & lost countless more.
I hadn't shad fished since high school & wanted to get dev a new specie for her bday. I debated buying waders & all the tackle but then Sharky said he went with a guide & beat the b@lls off them. Needless to say we made the right call. Capt. Tim knows that river like its his backyard just seamlessly guiding around the rocky, depth changing river. He's also mad cool & we sat there bullshitting for 8hrs just laughing the incredible fishing was just a bonus def need to have some beers with this dude. If you wanna go on the D give him a call. We are gonna be back for shad every year and think walleyes & smallies will be coming as well. Delicious shad fillets for days.
