Just curious about Party boat fishing
1. Do they have a certain amount of people they take ?
2. Do they board and allow you to pick your spots and bunks by your order of payment ?
3. Do they put a cap on drinking ?
4. Do they require only mono ( no braid ) ?
5. Are mates not allowed to set up rods for people ?

1,yes. The Gambler carries 24
2, yes.
3, limit to a 6pack
4, straight mono or long topshot for bait and braid for jigging/tilefish.
5, yes the Crew wants you to catch fish and will gladly set you up.
You can go on different boats websites and read what they require as I only know the Gambler.

I think at this point I think I have fished tuna on all the party boats in NJ running Tuna trips except the Norma K, and they just started doing Tuna runs again.
1. All boat have a passenger limit, usually between 22 and 30 people depending on the boat.
2. Most board in order of reservation, some do not, check with each boats policy.
3. Yes, no drunken foolishness out there.
4. Chunking you need minimum 150 yards of mono on top of your braid, jigging braid allowed on the up current side of the boat jigging.
5. I have never seen a prime spot reserved by a mate (stern corner)

To clarify setting up I mean rigging tackle.
