Took a run out to Sandy Hook channel to try and find a few late season fluke. Thought I had it made when I boxed two nice 20 inchers in the first half hour. The day had other plans, and we wound up dodging tons of mini porgies and sea bass. We had a real mixed bag of species- fluke, sea bass, sea robins, porgies, bluefish, blowfish, and a bunker(hooked in the mouth, on a jig!?).
We got outta Dodge before the weather turned. All fluke were on peanut bunker.
The USNavy also paid a visit, with a drive by from a new carrier. I didn't catch the name.

I saw that Carrier in NY Harbor a few years ago. It's the HMS Queen Elizabeth. A newer British Navy Carrier without Nuclear Propulsion.

More than likely was a hickory shad , they hit jigs and look incredibly close to a bunker .
