Fiona is "waving" goodbye to our fluke season and I mean "waving". Check out the web cam from Manasquan Inlet before it gets dark. Tomorrow will probably look very similar to today except for the surfers who will undoubtedly respond to the big wave challenge. Anyone thinking of getting out of MI should consider seeing a shrink. There are fluke in the river especially near the inlet. I'm guessing, that there will be a fleet fishing from the RR Bridge to Carlson's. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the PB's are in with them.

As Yogi would say its not over till its over! Tuesday looking good as of now but who knows. Lots of fish in all species around so help out the industry for hires and go when you can.
Think you called the end of Fluke 2 weeks ago LOL but yet ;)

8am. Same as usual. Bunch of guys floating around in wetsuits waiting for the wave that never comes. 24-28ft boat out a few hundred yards not even bouncing around.

With Hurricane Fiona heading up the coast and Ian in the gulf it's a sure bet the Fluke will be heading out! Although I am sure there are still some hanging around the back bay feeding on peanuts! It was a decent season for me. It could have been better but no major complaints. Now on to fall fishing! tight Lines!

I never thought the ocean would lay down like it did after seeing it yesterday afternoon and evening. When I was alluding to "waving" in this post, I was referring to the size of the waves. Something does happen to the fluke, though, after a blow this late in the season. It's amazing how far they can travel in just a few days. The strong new moon tides help move them along, but if you locate a few, you will probably find quite a few as they have bunched up for their migration. There is no doubt, however, that the number of boats fishing for them will be less.

Morning conditions were decent until about 10:00 am and then the fan turned on from the South. There are still some backwater fish on bunker and snappers until the next storm pushes them out.

Not waving just yet, Sat. 9/24 five keepers to 22" in the bay. " Wonder Rig" with P. Bunker, Spearing and 4" Gulp. Hiding but have been on " Hot Spots" all season long.
