First it starts with boats between 35 to 65 ft. and in only designated areas and times of the year. Then they will amend the laws to all size boats all the time and in all areas. This country is under attack from the globalists who are in lock step with our politicians but the problem is 1/2 the country has no idea of what is going on because of the censorship of the truth through our corrupt media, corporations, and govt. Same thing happened in the 1930's in Germany and look how that turned out.
Sorry, just had to post the obvious and I'm sure some troll on this website will make a vicious attack back at me!

Why care about whales? Should we just write off anything that gets in our way as humans?

Yea, unless ur a commercial fisherman. Humans are selfish and all out for themselves. As terrible as the fishing is in the ocean anymore, I think they should stop all fishing for about five years. I’m sure then you would catch tons of fluke like you should.

Didn’t help winter flounder.
Been a 2 fish limit since 2009 or 2010 that hardly anyone fished for since .
We used to catch them by the barrel .

Well there are multiple reasons why fish populations decline. I don’t have all the answers. What happened to the weak fish and the blue fish. These dinky blues they catch nowadays make me laugh. I was very glad to see they lowered the limit to three fish. Flounder fishing is total shit now. I’d never want to be a charter captain now. Only thing doing well is striped bass and sea bass maybe. Blackfishing is getting worse as well. All these party boat captains, charter boat captains really focus on us $ in the industry and the crippling regs to their business. There is more to life than getting our rocks off catching fish. Just an opinion. Sounds like most of these people could care less if the whale goes extinct.

It also seems like all the fish that were caught by the barrels or loaded up in burlap sacks back in the day that probably got freezer burnt anyway are depleted now. Just something to think about. It’s funny when u are in the moment and catching them by the barrel you think it will never end 🤭

I also think it’s much harder to bring a fishery back once it’s shot. It’s easier to destroy it than it is to bring it back. That’s just my view
