I know big Bob’s state record has stood forever, but does anyone have pics of a largemouth that comes close to that?

Attached is a pic of the biggest largemouth picture I’ve come across (I don’t know the guy who caught it), I’d estimate 8 pounds.

My PB smallie is 5.04. My gf caught her first ever smallie the other night, a 5.15 monster 😂😂 Nature has a way of humbling us (attached as well).

Anyone have pics of a 6+ pound smallie?

The really big ones are hard to find in Jersey. I know i still haven't seen any real big pike since i caught a huge one, i haven't caught any to compete with it since. Not sure where the pic i saw was taken, but i saw a pic of a fella holding what looked to be a state record Lmb maybe outta the Meadowlands or Overpeck area. Some guys could care less about the paperwork and recognition i guess. Cool thread!

I don't have a pic but a guy showed me a pic of himself holding a smallie just under 8 lbs on a digital scale. Fish was caught in the lower raritan river in May a buncha years ago. I think I farted when I saw the pic. It was no joke gigantic.

That picture of the huge largemouth appears to be in the river just above the Jersey City Reservoir. I'm sure there are some monsters in there. I don't believe it has been open for fishing for years.

Great Thread ! For years I was on a quest to catch the state record . I never really got close . I caught scores of LMB over 5 lbs. a few 6 plus and one over 7 . I think state records are mostly caught when your not targeting them , just at random.

if there is a state record largemouth swimming around in this state currently, it's gonna be in south jersey in some hidden off the beaten path place or private lake somewhere.

Idk the weights but my biggest NJ largemouth have both come from private lakes, 22" and 24" and it was a long time ago (i did not get a picture of the 24" because i didn't have a camera with me and i was alone haha... you don't have to believe me, i wouldn't either) can't even find the picture of the 22" fat bastard.... making me realize i have to go through my old fish pics and organize the real nice ones into one spot so my stories aren't just stories hahaha

I've seen a legitimate 8 pond largemouth bass caught from Round Valley. RV used to have many big LMB, not so much anymore.
Saw a photo on Facebook of a guy with a nighttime LMB he caught in a float tube (probably trespassing) on a private lake in the woods off the North Branch near Somerset airport, you can find it using Google Earth. He said that fish would have crushed the old state record LMB, and looking at the photo I truly believe it. It seems this person was notorious for sneaking into private waters late at night.

This is one LM I caught last year in may not 8lb but a solid 7lber.
Caught one at this lake 15 years ago that was 7lb 11oz.
