talked about it for a while, but finally pulled the trigger and signed up for the rvta contest saturday with mark and joe... we headed out into the pea soup fog with very little visibility and 30 minutes in, we did battle and landed the biggest lake trout weighed in the last few years and the biggest, fattest one i've ever personally seen in NJ!!
I'll post the picture, but just watch out your eyes don't get poked out haha (the other pictures we took didn't do the fish anywhere near justice) fish weighed 12.96 lbs officially and we were even able to keep it fully alive in the live-well and release it! This beast swam right back down on it's own after being in the live-well for about an hour which was actually surprising to me but the surface water wasn't too warm yet which i'm guess made a big difference.
