Slabs, Slabs, Rocket fish, toy Tog! The weekend!

Back on the Res this Saturday! Arrive to the Crappie grounds and again there is NOBODY else on them. Hehe! I don’t get it! Ok, I’ll keep them all to myself. Boated about 25 Slabs between 13-15.25 inches. Very thick fish I must say! Biggest one weighed a mere 3 lbs. Shiners under floats and plastics did the trick yet again with the live bait cracking the bigger fish. Had 2 rods go off at the same time at one point but these certainly weren’t Crappie. Seems to be the drag ripping of Hybrids and yep, yep, it was. One broke the line once it got into the weeds but I’m still happy I got the 7ish pounder to the boat. The other felt heavier on the ultra lite gear. Good times on the water all alone and in the zone.

Sunday! Took a trip down south to the Canal. It seems like a lot of fish winter over here. This is something I didn’t know still being somewhat of a rookie I guess. Did the Clam thing and definitely wasn’t a fan. The crunch, crunch, crunch is a super turn in when it comes to Blackfish. Managed to land quite a few including my first keeper of the year. Catching fish from all angles is something I like to teach myself. Patience is key when it comes to the Clam bite as they seem to slurp the bait rather then crack it like a Crab and then devour it. Nice day down there and thankfully sheltered from the east wind. Pick your poison guys, GAME ON EVERYWHERE!!! TIGHT LINEZ!!!:D

very nice crappie. 3lbs is el crappo looks like he ran to another body of water very sneaky fish no wonder i can not find him on the cong he went else where. cool report ed well done.

You are dialed in there for sure. Pike, bass, and hybrids as by-catch are a a nice bonus!

The Rec. team he’s on plays 3 times a week at 5:45 or 7:45.
Travel is every Sunday.
The middle school team he’s on plays 2-3 times a week and those games are usually at 4-4:45.
NO BASEBALL ON SATURDAYS, YEE YEE!!! Lol!
But that will all change once the tournaments start. :D

Going camping there with the family Monday night n fishing Tuesday. Hope to land some monster crappies with the wife and kid. Hopefully I'll get to post some pics.
