PA trips both weekend days.
PA has closed most of their streams due to pre-season stocking. For some reason they started the close earlier in February, not even March. They dont open until April 2nd. No problem because I can spend the time in the non-stocked streams that are still open.
Saturday was after the cold front that hit Friday, despite a nice warmish week. I could NOT find any smaller fish which i normally find plenty in this stretch. Not even tiny ones following. My last trout trip was finding them though.
I ended up getting action on the small pink worm, then 1 on the jerkbait, all good fish for this creek. Quality over quantity kind of day.
Sunday i start early before the rain and hit up the upper regions of the creek, more plunge pool water and narrow but impressive quantities of fish and still decent sizes. So many hits, but unfortunately not many hookups. Was more impressed by just watching it all rather than even hooking up with them. Got to only land two but that was more than enough entertainment. Awesome fishing regardless of landing.
I move downstream thinking i can get the same action with larger fish; but by this time the storm moved out, post frontal and sunny, lots of follows but no hookups. Shame but I found a new small stretch to hit :)
