Hit the main stem Raritan river- NT (non trout) non fall stocked- for some fall trout fishing. Got 3 at Duke Island Park and bounced around Robert St, Manville, Somerville and Bound Brook without so much as a sniff.
Walking up to what I traditionally call the "Lard spot" at Robert St. I saw a bunch of ducks sitting in the river, as I approached I thought it strange that they didn't even move, then 2 ducks come in for a landing and then the guns started blasting !!!! Duck season, I forgot ! Doug hit the nail on the head, last 60* day until March. Access to the Headgates dam is still roped off.

The word from the county park system is back and forth....they might wait for the damn to come down before they fix the path....but if the damn removal is delayed too much, the path will take priority...will post more when i know more....nice fish!!! I found a few myself

Those trout get around. Nice catch for the end of November! The Raritan always seems to give up something to be thankful for.

Looks like a fun day on the Rainbow Trouts. Solid action for sure. Ya don’t need 60 degree days for good fishing. Ya need to fish when you can and when time allows. Well for some of us anyway! :D
