Fun Halloween weekend!
Started Friday night @ the raritan in the howling wind and rain skunking with just a bunch of leaves to reel in.
PA streams were blown out so just retried the raritan and was rewarded a mid-morning walleye. No other action other than a dink LMB, so moved to a crappie spot nearby and did ok-ish, nothing like how it was in spring.
Come Sunday PA streams are still blown out, figured I could bag another nice walleye so back at the river again.
Struck the gold-mine this time, got two massive PB stripers. First was a 9 minute fight, insane headshakes. The third one was 1/3rd the size of the other two but by this time my reel had broken! Daiwa BG 2500, some gear must have been stripped. Hand-lined it in to the leader but then it broke the snap off lol.

Monday I had off and picked one up early, but nothing else after that.
I originally hoped to get some trout so ended up hitting a new tiny creek for browns.

Wednesday after work joined Hookmanski in the surf and I got my first surf fish. He landed a GIANT and was a lot of fun just watching him in awe while the reel burnnnnnnned zzzzztztztzzzzzzzt! He posted it in saltwater board.

Damn, dude. Amazing. Think those stripers have been there since the spring? I thought they go back out to sea in the fall.

just easier to upload, I save all my photos on a cloud drive anyways, so if that site ever stops hosting images I will still have em saved personally.

I've actually always been using this but have been using the full image integration, inline with the forum post, rather than thumbnails. Not sure if it's easier to read when I have a lot of pics to share.

No idea myself, but my assumption is that they are the same fish coming through the surf right now, fall run, just these were more adventurous and made it up river. Likely to feast on 16 inch stockie trout that got washed down lol

Once I started looking into how much time these striped bass spend in freshwater I was amazed.

Luke can't imagine how you landed bass that big with a river moving as fast as the pictures suggest using fresh water tackle. Impressive!

The distance bass migrate and the fact they can flourish in fresh and saltwater is incredible. You set the bar high on this one, will be a tough personal best to beat but lit if fun trying.

Congrats on a great catch! Awesome pics.
