Low light conditions-
cooler water spring/fall/winter, when there are not a lot of people on the water.
If you can, try night fishing with big live bait.
Need a really good depth finder as well.
they are not everywhere.. Once you find where they are congregating they are not as mystifying to catch...
Fish like those in the pics take experience and time spent on the water, they don't come often to casual fishermen.. You need to do your research, find out the techniques the successful fishermen are using, and put the time in.. If fish like that were easy to catch, in no time, they would be gone.

Nice walleyes, Cap't. Any fish hit the 30" mark?
It's crazy how different they look compared to the larger specimens I've caught in the rivers. The eyes alone look twice the size!

Had a nice walleye and white perch bite on Hopatcong last weekend. Action is picking up.
