Blues and Bass on a Bayshore Beach

2-day report 9/15 & 9/16. Peanut bunker are on the bayshore beaches. Find peanuts, find blues and bass. My 2-day total, from the sand, was 7 bluefish, 17" to 22", and 3 stripers, 18" to 21". All fish were released, after being caught on a 1oz Kastmaster spoon. Best action was around high tide. Friday looks like and off day, but hopefully the water will not be too dirty on Saturday.

Hard to beat that trip!

Follow-up report. Sat., 9/18, 1 striper, 22". 4 small fish hooked and lost -- probably small blues 12-to 14". Tuesday, 9/21, AM. 2 bluefish, 21" landed. 1 bluefish threw the spoon while jumping 3 feet out of the water. Occasional pods of peanut bunker for both of these trips -- not nearly as many as on 9/15 and 9/16.
