Hybrid contest weekend! 8-21

Set sail with Cap’n Mikey this weekend to do some damage on the Hybrids. We started at 6:30 AM and had fish right off the bat but a little bit of a slower bite. We had a few doubles and triples early on but it faded out quickly. By 11-12 it was one fish here and one fish there. Had to move around to stay on em’. Most of the fleet was fishing the same area and we found fish where nobody else was. The grind continues into the afternoon and into dinner time when the fishing picks up again. At this point where up to about 30 fish with lots of fish measuring 20-25 inches. Weeding through all the smaller fish we finally get a 25.5 inch tank in the boat to keep us in the game. We had a full on blitz pretty much to ourselves with a friends boat close by getting in on the action. By 9 PM we were both dead. I couldn’t do another 10 minutes. Long day on the water with about 45 fish landed in 14 hours of fishing. Slow day! Hahahaha! Met up with my brother this afternoon for the weigh in and we knew it would be close. Weighed the kicker fish in @ 7.28 lbs. but was it big enough to take the lead? NOOOOOOOOOOO, missed the 1st. place prize money by a quarter ounce egg sinker! Talk about a nail biter, sheeeeeshhhhhhh!!! We gave it our best and the father and son team of Matt and Justin got us! Congrats guys! You definitely fished hard and deserve the win. See you at the next one! What a weekend on the water! Absolutely slugfest! TIGHT LINEZ! :D

Eddie / Mikey great job as always. 45 hybrids in a day, those numbers are ridiculous. Every time I read one of your reports and read about 16 rod spreads and look at the pic on this thread, I reach for the dramamine because just the thought is dizzying! I have enough problems with two lines in the water.

Some day, good results and nice to see the fishery appear to be thriving. Congrats on the second place finish.

Team black mamba don’t mess around!!! We gave it hell and it was close.....Always a fun one to fish, especially when fasty is in the boat. We will get em next time pal
