Planning to hit Prospertown for trout opener. Thinking of soaking powerboat because of the 8:00 start time. Micro castmasters the rest of the season at dawn/dusk. I was wondering what others will be throwing/soaking.

i got PA opener trout on black marabou jigs, some smaller ones about an 1+1/2 long overall. Got them to hit it on the fall in a large hole. Id get some similar slow falling jig like a trout magnet

+1 for the trout magnet.

I use mine on a float - White and pink always seem to catch em..

I've been having great luck this week with red or brown rooster tails, single hook...

Funny what doesn't work one day may work the next.

Had about 2 hours to go out Saturday and 2 hrs Sunday. Both days throwing a simple white/silver rooster tail and a pink trout magnet with a split shot without a float.

Nothing in the afternoon heat on Saturday, 2 rainbows and a sunny on Sunday in the rain. Tried a mousetail after my trout magnet got snagged and the bite was already off for me

D&R Canal in Ewing / West Trenton, same area both days.

Didn’t get a bite on corn in Prospertown this evening. Caught and released a pickerel with a jig.

Irish, wading in the front. Bands, 1 Rainbow on am opener on dam. Tuesday am limit of Bows,no love on castmaster. Switched to green/yellow powerboat and it was game on. Went back Wednesday am got a huge pickerel on powerbait. Size 18 treble in the corner of the mouth. I got my 6 Bows again on green/yellow and orange powerbait. They didn't want garlic, blue, or trout magnet green. I have been wading between the ramp and the dam. I miss my boat. The better spots can only be reached by a longgg wade or boat . Saw the Bald Eagle again yesterday and a Beaver swam by . Saw the oldtimer by the skimmer Sat. and Wed. catch a few. The skimmer has been my go to spot just not this year. When they stock Brookies the lure bite is much better. The coontail moss is starting to grow so it's getting tougher by the day. Pm me if you want more info. Nothing like smoked trout.
