Kicked off the first open water trip of the year sat on the big pond in search of some crappies. Lot of ice out there still... ice line was from chestnut to Elba rest of the lake was pretty much open except some coves. Hit two early season spots and found a good patch of yellows with bobbers going down right off the bat, made a wiggle and we were dialed in on the crappies. Jig n bobbers did the trick. We kept 19 good slabs and threw the rest back. Not bad for a first trip out and it only gonna get better.
