Hit some spots with fellow Pike legend SkunkCity! Pretty nice morning out there, not hot, not cold and not that much wind. The wind held off just long enough for both of us to get our open water fix of some toothy critters! Skunk strikes first with a beauty of a female at 33 inches. We CPR’d the beast and watch her swim back to the depths. A little time passes and Skunks hooked up again with a heavier 34 inch fish, another perfect NJ Pike. I’m slow to get on the board but finally get slammed by an aggressive little Pike about 28ish inches or so. Hell yesss! It’s about time! Time passes and the wind starts to rip with some breaks in between gusts. I got a slight knock at my bait, feel the weight and set the hook, fish on! Oh boy, it feels heavy and is ripping drag on my Bass rod! After some really nice runs we finally see color. It’s a beast! Big head, fat, nice belly and just another perfect specimen. This gal was pretty heavy and taped out at 38 inches! Whoooooo! Let’s gooooo! I was stoked! What a fish to end a morning session with. We tried a little longer but the bite subsided! Great morning out there with Rob! He definitely knows where the big girls live! What a way to open the open water season! TIGHT LINEZ!!!:D

Awesome fish, great job. I did a quick drive by my spot on the 5th but it was flooded out, so I decided to go back to ice fishing and nailed a bunch of fish that Saturday and Sunday. Can't wait to get back into those toothy bastards! TD
