Ice Fishing 2021

New to the site. Sharing my NNJ ice fishing yesterday. Middle picture is a 4 inch perch...1st fish of the year. A whopper. I have to work on straightening out the pictures for future posts.

Hit the ice today in a spot I have been going to for 30 years. Sketchy ice, not recommending going out there. 3 inches in most spots. There were spots that had 2 to 2.5 inches...scary. I was only out for 2 hours. Caught 4 perch (3 jigged, 1 on a tip up) and 1 pickerel (tip up). Nice way to start the ice fishing season. The weather for Friday and Saturday will definitely make mush out of the ice. I am not going out this weekend for sure and not recommending anyone to go out. Hopefully some cold vortex air will shoot down and there will be some ice in the upcoming weeks. Stay Safe.

Well some fish better than none. Weather will do a number on us but looks like colder days ahead.

Hopefully February we will get to do some solid fishing.

Good you got out yesterday. I had checked the weather a day or two ago & judged that with the mild rain, I won't read any ice reports from Sunday. Kind of thought for a bit it might hold out. The next week looks good.

Another ice fishing brother joins the maddness welcome.. It is good to see you got some fish for your efforts be safe and check as you go. The weather is looking better at the end of the week lets hope it does not do this up and down temp stuff any more.
