I can’t believe it’s been a month since I went Walleye fishing! Seriously, where does the time go? Sheeesh! Hit the lake bright and early. While heading north I just kept watching the temp gauge in my truck drop. When I left my house the temp gauge read 34 degrees. When I got to the lake and launched it read a balmy 19 degrees. Oh my! It finally feels like Walleye fishing. Haha! Jigged the same stuff as usual and the fish were in the drops right where they should be. Took a while to get them going and I had to wait for some skim ice to melt. Once the sun finally peeked up over the mountain and the last of the ice disappeared is when I had the best action. Not a fast and furious bite but some solid action from some nice plump early winter Walleye. Managed to get 6 keepers to 24-25ish inches, 5 of them were over 20 inches and slammed my offering! The only other fish I saw this morning were rogue White Perch and they came in with no effort. Off the water by 1 as I had afternoon plans! Definitely wish I could’ve stayed all day! It was absolutely beautiful out there with no wind! Not a normal thing for December in NJ. But then again, what is normal? TIGHT LINEZ!!!:D

Ooops! I forgot to mention this species that smacked my blade bait on my second cast of the day! Definitely fought like a wet can!

Nice waldos you got there eddie, lets hope the weather gets better for making some ice that you do not have to wait to melt so you can go fishing. I hope the fish want to play nice once the lakes lock up and we can walk on them.... looks like we are going to have to amp up the ice dancing a bit this year:rolleyes:

Eddie great pics. Beautiful walleye my friend, way to get it done. Looks like some nice females fattening up for the upcoming spawn. Are you submitting the Michelob Light for skillful angler consideration. We've all heard of lip hooked, but flip top hooked....c'mon man! Hope you netted that bad boy!

Good to see you're not a fair weather fan with your hat. Nice to have conviction. Either that or you didn't have any other hats to wear!

Great report! Quality walleye!

I remember the last time you posted a big walleye, Eddie, like yesterday. You really make me want to buy a boat. I emailed Laurie about renting one in the middle of November to go jigging Binskys, but she told me she was taking them out. I won't put my squareback canoe on LH and your lake seems big for it, too.
