Haven't posted in a while but I am still chasing fish in North Jerzey.
To say November has been good to me is an understatement.
Played hooky in early November aboard the Essential and caught every major game species in the lake including a 19.5" tank smallmouth. This fish qualifies for a skillful angler award and with the largie I caught through the ice I qualify for the Bass Slam!

Two weekends ago with the June like weather took the wife out on the home lake and was fishing in a t-shirt. On my third cast hooked into a log of a hybrid. The fish took about 10 minutes to land and had multiple enormous drag screaming runs. This fish measured 26.75" and weighed 10.25 pounds. Another skillful angler award! The knee deep club record is just a bit bigger so it is safe to say this will be the biggest hybrid I ever catch.

Last Saturday I caught 1 lonely fish from sunrise to sunset. I think it is the right fish when it is the biggest Lake Trout that Chrisper (aka The Mackinaw Whisperer) has ever seen in person. This deep water dweller measured 33" and was an amazing fight. Couldn't get her off the bottom and she made multiple runs back to the depths. Another skillful angler award and probably one of the more difficult species to achieve the award with a 31" requirement. There aren't many big ones still swimming.
I have since been banished from the Essential!

With these 3 skillful angler award I finally achieved my goal of qualifying for the Master Angler Award (5 different species)! All fished released for others to enjoy.
Hopefully this weekend doesn't disappoint! Tight lines fellas and stay safe.
