Big snapper, Hows the carp fishing?
Caught 23 small common carp on corn bait in Veterans Park Lake and 22 to 12.5 lbs in Carnegie Lake this year. I think both spots are fished out. Maybe the Millstone River will be good next year. Landed 63 turtles this year. Caught 5 goldfish on corn.

Corn chum really brings them in. Watch the trail of bubbles as the snappers move in. Carp do the same sometimes but carp will leave puffs of mud when they are feeding. The turtles are not bad table fare once you get past the smell when you clean them. The only edible parts in the turtle are it’s legs. Turtle legs are not what I eat as a staple. I tried them once and that was it for me. I tried to play it off as chicken to my wife. She wasn’t fooled and wasn’t too happy.

I gave a snapper to a Chinese restaurant a few years ago and they gave me Chinese turtle soup. The meat looked and tasted like white meat chicken. It was much better than snapper soup in an American restaurant.
