When I was a student at Kean University this was one of my favorite stomping grounds. It has changed a bit over the years but one thing stayed certain, this place is loaded with catfish. Spent two hours one evening dunking some nightcrawlers on the bottom and pulled up a handful of small brown bullheads. This place has channel catfish and every once in a while you'll hook into a nice one, but this day it was all smaller bullheads. Hope you enjoy the video.

Pieces of hotdog under a bobber catches them all of the time.

From 2010-2014 when I was a student at Kean University I used to fish this pond weekly. I used whatever was available to a broke college student. I used hotdogs, poptarts, beef jerky, but most commonly I used pizza crust from the lunch I had over at Pizza Villa in Elizabeth. A grossly underrated pizza place in my opinion. Anyway, back then I never fished the bottom and did everything under a bobber. This summer though when I tried using a bobber here I ended up getting a bunch of bluegills. That's something that was unheard of earlier in the decade. I think the biodiversity of the pond changed a bit. Way more panfish here now than years ago and I also caught two largemouths this summer which I never caught in my countless trips years ago.

Cool video from a pond I grew up fishing. Catfish and dead bodies seem to go hand in hand. Lol! Those Bullheads get rather large picking away at human flesh. Ooooooof! :D

Tragically, there have been three bodies recovered from that pond over the last five years.

Yikes! Really? The pond is not that big and the area isn't that bad. Would not have thought that.
