First a big thanks to all the advice and PM’s I got pre trip. From this FW newbie, it’s much appreciated gents!
Trailered up the boat and 2 yaks. Had a condo lakefront close to the village. Just awesome fishing on any piece of structure we found especially moving north away from the crowds in the southern basin.
Nothing huge at all but a steady diet of small and largemouths, yellow perch, rock bass, bluegills and cats in the dark. Not a single pickerel or pike in the 8 days we stayed. Gave the 90-120 FOW a try close to the Narrows area twice early morning with spoons (jigging) and live shiners with no takers.
Dunked worms right off the boat tied to the dock every nite and after 10 pm it was always game on with the cats.
Just about everything we threw caught but purple keitechs on a drop shot rig was the ticket all week. The boys in their yaks def outcaught the big boat big time!
A def lack of pics on my part as it was just a busy ass week! Will def do this trip again. Been up there before but never with the boat and yaks and it was a shit load of fun.
